Michael Goldenberg to pen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The project is expected to begin principal photography in late 2005 or early 2006 for release in summer 2007. Steve Kloves, who wrote the screenplays for the first four Harry Potter films, has opted to step away from the series to adapt and direct another Warner Bros. project, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," based on the best-selling novel by Mark Haddon.
Goldenberg most recently adapted Where the Wild Things Are and also wrote Peter Pan and Contact. He also wrote and directed Bed of Roses.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was released July 11th, 2007 and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Melling, Jason Boyd, Richard Macklin, Kathryn Hunter, Miles Jupp, Fiona Shaw, Richard Griffiths. The film is directed by David Yates.
