Michael Fassbender brings Assassin's Creed to DMC Film
DMC Film partner Conor McCaughan will also serve as a co-producer on this sci-fi action adventure revolving around a bartender who learns that his ancestors were trained assassins. He is kidnapped by a group tied to the secret society Knights Templar, and is forced to travel through time collecting various historical artifacts to be used for a higher purpose.
Assassin's Creed is the most high profile project currently with Michael Fassbender's DMC Film. This big screen adaptation was originally set up through Sony Pictures, but the project was put on hold by Ubisoft. It may still be distributed by Sony when it is completed, with a projected release date of 2014.
The Assassin's Creed video game franchise has moved over 30 million units for Ubisoft since its 2007 debut. The next installment of the game, its third, is expected to hit stores this October. It will take place during the American Revolution. The first two games carried through the Crusades and the Renaissance era. It is not yet known which chapter of this saga will kick off the theatrical franchise, if all three time periods will be visited, or if Assassin's Creed will head to new, uncharted points of time in our human history.
Assassin's Creed comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Michael Fassbender.

@christopher Lino i know it would never happen but A fan boy can dream :D just imagine it we would prbally have Joseph Gordon Levit as Desmond A blonde Ellen Page as Lucy and Mr Fassbender as Warren Vidic that would be incredible

God please no Chris Nolan directing...because of the Nolan Batman fans, I ended up not loving the trilogy anymore and most of Batman. The Arkham Games got me liking him again. Plus I don't think the AC style is something Nolan can do.

@justice-kowaleski - A Christopher Nolan "Assassin's Creed" would be amazing - but Warner Bros is never gonna let him go not after all the success they've been having.

@zanyzap,
Hahaha... Now that would be an interesting choice to direct this...

He has a good reputation, im sure the movie will be a great hit. Unless they hire a dumbass director.

Zack Snyder would be a good choice for a Prince of Persia film and a stunt man that knows parkour would be better in the long run.
@rudy I was only joking man. I've got to get a few more short films to do before attempting something big like this

Brizzy
Sounds really good. This man only makes good films and has no intention of destroying this franchise and making himself a less thought-of actor. This can only end well.

the Narrator
Haha, @zanyzap. Whether you're joking or not, I'd give that film a watch.
Seriously though, I could see someone like Zack Snyder directing the film. Slow-motion throughout the game, it's an adaptation with a clear-cut plot, and it has his "fight in the shade" actor attached. :P

@bryanyentz Get the hell outta here! But seriously, give it to Steve McQueen. Yep. I said it.

@dan lulz. if Uwe Boll directed this movie Assassins Creed games would lose so much money

@bryanyentz I don't think Fassbender would work with Uwe Boll. If there really is a God, he wouldn't.

For some reason I can't picture this being anything other than a slow motion-fest piled on with some decent cgi

I just hope it doesn't turn out like Prince of Persia. And put in their own female character for Desmond to fall in love with. Lucy is enough.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx And the writers. Far as I'm concerned, the director in question just has to match what the video games have already done, with a touch of originality at a bigger scale

They need a director that actually plays the games and understands what we need to see, I nominate myself.

I really like the video game(s), but I have a bad feeling about this. It really depends on the director, at this point.

Depends on the director. With Fassie attached, hopefully this project will attract some attention. In any event, I like him in the role.

@ROFLitschristian yeah I can't tell if this is a good or bad thing yet. Yes, Fassbender is going to star in the movie and he's awesome but video game movies usually don't do very good.

@pjwolsker My thoughts exactly. You can't go wrong with Michael Fassbender (well except Jonah Hex) but this is Assassin's Creed. :| I'm conflicted.

I'm happy that we'll get to see Mr. Fassbender in such a great project, but I'm worried about that ever-present issue of video games transferring into Movies.
