Michael Bay Remains Undecided on Directing Transformers 4

Michael Bay still unsure about making Transformers 4
Yesterday we reported that director Michael Bay is in "final negotiations" to direct Transformers 4, although that doesn't quite seem to be the case. The filmmaker took to his official message boards early this morning to address the Transformers 4 story. Here's what he had to say below.

"Right now I'm not decided on Transformers 4. Studio's are passing rumors but I'm not sure what I'm doing? I know I'm going to do Pain and Gain early spring but that's it for right now. I'm leaving all my options on the table. I've got several Studio meetings in the next two weeks."

No matter what happens with Transformers 4, Pain and Gain will definitely be the director's next movie, a project he has been developing since 1999. The story is based on a New York Times article about two Florida bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion and kidnapping scheme. We reported earlier this week that Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in Pain and Gain, with Mark Wahlberg circling another role.

Transformers 4 comes to theaters June 27th, 2014 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

@moviewiz001 I'm confused, you said u sent this article story to a fan, and then Michael bay himself sent you a reply back online or in the mail? I don't wanna rain on ur parade but if it was online, it could've been some poser, and MB doesn't hand reply fan-mail in real life, he has agents write it for him :/ would be cool though...i'll send him some fan-mail soon and see what he has to say :)

Wahlberg won't be doing Pain and Gain, just letting you guys know. But I'm up for P&G, I really don't care about T4 or BB3.

@bawnian-dexeus@ghostman@moviegeek Ya know what's funny. I sent the article to a TF fan about him wanting to direct it and then Michael Bay himself sent back to me that it's undecided.

    ...thank you... and wow.

Bay needs to stop with those stupid fart jokes and overdone humping dogs and robots sh*t. It's like he has a bunch of 2nd graders writing the comedy portion of his movies. He even had those rats f*cking in Bad Boys 2. At least Sam's corny parents didn't come out as much in TF3.

Bad Boys 3, then think about doing a TF4, i mean they seemingly killed off Megatron so they can bring him back as Unicron in the fourth one and have it take place yrs after the third film so Shia Labeouf doesn't have to be in it.

Ugh, STOP IT! No more Transformers!

Yes, I've seen them them all, enjoyed them the first time, but they're completely retarded. I don't like bashing on films that people like, but most people who like TF films have only seen them once, and in theaters. Once you see it again and see past the mind-numbing VFX you realize how terrible these movies really are. I honestly would rather have ONE solid TF movie directed by say Chris Nolan or James Cameron (which will never happen btw, just an example) that I could watch 100s of times, than a hundred TF movies directed by Bay that are only fun watching them once.

Just do Bad Boys 3, the 2nd one was pretty sucky but I think he can do it better now, plus those films are really Michael Bay's style, the non-stop action and stupid humor fit those movies perfectly without ruining them, unlike TF.

10 years would be kind of long. Maybe 5 years or less would make sense.

@moviegeek Yeah, I know what you mean. This article took me by surprise when I saw it appearing so quickly.

@goku-ssj2 The third film wasn't bad, it's just that the trilogy has no cohesion. It basically made everything that happened in the second film pointless. Well, even more pointless.

Never realized how bad the second one actually was until the other day. I say just do BB3 though. Do something the people will like.

    Best decisions:

    1: Do TF4

2: Throw the project away and do BB3.

Personally, I don't think we need another Transformers film for a good ten years or so. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Bay's films for what they were, but not to the point where I would demand a continuation.

That said, if another Transformers film must be made, I say get Shawn Levy. After seeing Real Steel, there's not a doubt in my mind he'd be the perfect fit.

@bawnian-dexeus Dude if he could make a totally bad ass Bad Boys 3 with a little less comedy and a lot more epic gunfights and chases. t'would be awesome

@goku-ssj2 - your mistake is thinking people like me care about the opinions of people like you :p

Now if only Michael Bay could make Bad Boys 3 and T4 at the same time.... OOH maybe even a crossover film lmfao

    Here's an idea:

Do Pain and Gain, then do Bad Boys 3 to satisfy a lot of people and do TF4. I know with today's studios being so greedy and impatient, it won't be the case, but it's a good plan. That is of course if Bay even listens to his fans requesting Bad Boys 3

  17. Goku_ssj2

@youngrizo I wouldn't brag about that. It's the fault of people like you that such fail of a movie has made that much money and made two even more retarded sequels. If you wanna throw away your money on sh*t movies that's your choice but don't make it like it's a good film cause it by no means is.
