Variety reports that Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender are in talks to star in director Cary Fukunaga's (Sin Nombre) adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's revered novel Jane Eyre.

The script was written by Moira Buffini.

This version of Jane Eyre will follow Jane (Wasikowska), "a demure governess who discovers her surly employer Rochester (Fassbender) is harboring a dark secret."

Jane Eyre was released March 11th, 2011 and stars Mia Wasikowska, Jamie Bell, Su Elliot, Holly Grainger, Tamzin Merchant, Amelia Clarkson, Craig Roberts, Sally Hawkins. The film is directed by Cary Fukunaga.
