Meryl Streep Orders A Rendition

Meryl Streep has joined Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon in the cast of the political thriller, Rendition, for New Line Cinema.

Alan Arkin has also signed on to the flick, directed by Gavin Hood and written by Kelley Sane. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on a CIA analyst (Gyllenhaal) based in Cairo who finds his world spinning out of control after he witnesses the interrogation of a foreign national by the Egyptian secret police. Witherspoon is playing the pregnant American wife of the national; Arkin will play a senator. Streep is a government official who orders the rendition of the national.

Rendition is currently shooting in Los Angeles; they'll next move to Washington, Morocco and South Africa.

Rendition was released October 19th, 2007 and stars Omar Metwally, Reese Witherspoon, Aramis Knight, Rosie Malek-Yonan, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hadar Ratzon, Moa Khouas, Zineb Oukach. The film is directed by Gavin Hood.
