A brand new HBO pilot is getting some Oscar-nominated help. According to Variety, Mellisa Leo, who was nominated for Best Actress this year for her role in Frozen River, has joined the cast of the HBO pilot, Treme

The actress will portray a New Orleans civil rights lawyer in the ensemble drama series which centers on the rebuilding of the Big Easy after Hurricane Katrina.

The pilot comes from The Wire creator David Simon, who co-wrote the pilot script with Eric Overmeyer. The Wire alums Clarke Peters and Wendell Pierce have also joined the cast as well.

The pilot is scheduled to shoot later this month in New Orleans.
