Meet the Fockers sets 1st day record with it's release
Fockers also set an internal record for Universal, selling more units on its release day than any other comedy. Previously, that honor went to Bruce Almighty, according to insiders.
As for weekly data for DVD sales, two releases from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment were on top of the Nielsen VideoScan charts for the week ending April 9: Sideways at No. 1 and Elektra at No. 2. The Walt Disney Co./Pixar's The Incredibles landed in third.
Disney also scored some big movers for the week ending April 9, with Kill Bill-Vol 1 moving from No. 99 on Nielsen's list to No. 44, while Kill Bill-Vol 2 went from No. 76 to No. 35.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl moved up from No. 65 to No. 39. Also leaping forward in the week ending April 9 was the single-disc version of DreamWorks' Oscar winner Gladiator, which climbed from No. 74 to No. 27.
Meet the Fockers was released December 22nd, 2004.
