Leven Rambin joins the Mavericks cast
The movie is based on the true story of Jay Moriarty, a bold surfer who dared to conquer the Santa Cruz waves known as Mavericks. It is said that during the winter, these legendary swells can grow to the size of a five-story building. Jonny Weston is portraying Jay Moriarty and Leven Rambin will play his best friend and potential love interest. Gerard Butler also stars as surfing coach Rick "Frosty" Hesson.
Curtis Hanson is directing Mavericks from a screenplay by Brandon Hooper. It isn't known when production will start.
Leven Rambin will next be seen as the District 1 tribute Glimmer in Lionsgate's highly-anticipated adaptation The Hunger Games.
Of Men and Mavericks comes to theaters October 26th, 2012 and stars Gerard Butler, Elisabeth Shue, Leven Rambin, Abigail Spencer, Scott Eastwood, Taylor Handley, Jenica Bergere, Cooper Timberline. The film is directed by Curtis Hanson.
