WTF??!!! I would go w/ prequel!!! Why would they re-boot The Thing?? I hated the re-booted Halloween!!! No scare in that movie at all. Hope that doesn't happen here!!!

Why are they referring this new version to a remake if the story is going to be about when the aliens were first discovered before it ended up at the camp from the original movie? Shouldn't they be calling it a prequel instead?

Yeah I was thinking that too Messiah, I was like "I don't f*cking speak Norwegian" lol jm I hope the movie isn't all subtitles. Or "swedes" as Kurt Russell called 'em lol :)

If it's a prequel and focuses on the Norwegians...does that mean the whole movie will be in subtitles? lol...

Doesn't matter. Sounds like it'll suck either way. Remake? Prequel? Who cares? It won't be better that John Carpenters version

OKKKKKK
Told you guy from the start its a remake.
It basically to put it a remake of a remake in the perspective of a prequel.
Well that in one word 'Sucks' because we know everyone dies in the end.
They are basically rebooting / remaking the film but using the story that opened The Thing, which was what happened before the team got there. Which really isn't that all interesting.

Hard pressed to make this comparable to the 82 version.

Sounds more prequel than sequel. The Norwegian camp was only briefly shown in the original.

A PREQUEL would be interesting with today's level of effects.
Carpenter's '82 remake is a masterpiece that still resonates chills today. Mind blowing.

If this 'prequel' or story 'reboot' does well, they will probably remake the 1982 movie.

Prequel. Still say they should make the sequel. Most prequels these days blow chunks. Just like Underworld 3 there won't be much to intrigue me about this project. You already know what's going to happen.

Isn't it easier just to copy a movie's plot and hope people don't notice the resemblance? At least they would get rid of the "remake" label that everybody hates...

This isn't a remake, maybe a REBOOT with a different story point of view from the norwegian camp people, which is kinda like a prequel but not lol.
