X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn is working with Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons to bring two new comic adaptations to life, The Secret Service and Superior. While storyline details are being kept undercover for The Secret Service, but the director co-created the concept and holds the movie rights.

He also owns the movie rights to Superior, a comic Mark Millar is writing with Leinil Francis Yu. The plot revolves around a superhero and comic book-idolizing boy afflicted with multiple sclerosis who is given the chance to become a superhero named Superior. The chance, of course, comes with a heavy cost.

Although the director hasn't inked any deals with the writers he will be involved with both of these projects.

Both projects are still in development and no other details have been released.

@Number1Wolverine The comic still has four issues to be released, I believe (I'll know this weekend--my comic book shop is holding the latest issue for me). So there are still months until KA2 is finished in book form, then comes the whole screenwriting process. If I had to hazard a guess, we're at least a year from KA2 getting production underway. Vaughn can do other projects in the meantime. But, in defense of your point, perhaps Vaughn doesn't see a reason for his involvement. He made a blockbuster with First Class, and just maybe Vaughn feels returning to Kick Ass would be a step down at this point in his career, because of how little profit the first film made.

@ejk1 - True, but is it me or do i get the feeling that he really doesn't want to do it at all. If so i rather him say that then having us think it's going to get made some time soon, and hell the comic Kick-Ass 2 is closer to being finished then starting over with something new that has let to be released let don't you think.

@tycamgamer @Number1Wolverine The Kick Ass 2 comic has yet to be fully finished. Until Vaughn knows exactly what is in the book, he can't do anything with the story. He may as well take other projects in the meantime.

One of my favorite directors, since Kick-Ass he has really risen in the movie industry but what he needs to do is continue on to Kick-Ass 2 before they find another director and f*ck it up or not even make it at all

So ok Matthew Vaughn is now directing The Secret Service, producing Superior and Nemesis. Which pretty much leaves First Class to get another director, and Kick-Ass 2 moves closer to being another Sin City "frick".
