Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar Believe in American Jesus

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, filmmaker Matthew Vaughn and comics creator Mark Millar (Wanted) will be teaming up for an adaptation of the comic American Jesus.

Recently, these two artists worked on the film Kick-Ass

The comic looks at the return of Christ in today's world and what happens when he confronts the Antichrist.

The book was made with artist Peter Gross and originally appeared as a three-issue miniseries in 2006. The title of the comic then was "Chosen." Millar continued the story as a trilogy of miniseries, and the property eventually became known as American Jesus.

The plan is for this movie to start shooting in the summer.

for as much trouble as these supserstitions (christianity, judaism, islam, etc) cause in reality, the nonsense they are based on sure make for some entertaining movies.

its just a shame that in reality the followers of these superstitions are so violent and intolerant of each other.

...sorry to be so down on religion, i still haven't gotten over the video i watched recently of christians in africa burning their children alive because they believe their children to be witches or possessed by demons.
i mean how f*cking stupid do you have to be to believe in that sh*t so much that it causes you to burn your child alive.
