Variety reports that Matthew McConaughey and Eva Mendes are circling the project Southbound.

Jonathan Jakubowicz (Secuestro Express) will be directing. Peter Craig wrote the screenplay.

McConaughey plays a border patrol officer between California and Mexico. He takes a bribe froma beautiful Mexican woman. This ends up putting his family in danger when he finds himself in "a war between the Mexican crime families and the U.S. immigration police."

This film will start shooting in September.
