I was just hooked," Reeves recalled recently. "I was so taken with the story and I had a very personal reaction. It reminded me a lot of my childhood, with the metaphor that the hard times of your pre-adolescent, early adolescent moment, that painful experience is a horror."
Reeves signed on to adapt and direct an American remake of the cult hit, now called "Let Me In," the English translation of John Ajvide Lindqvist's original novel. He recently finished a second draft of the script, currently set in Reagan-era Colorado, and is scouting locations, looking to maintain the original story's chilly, snow-swept environs. The film is scheduled for a fall 2010 theatrical release.

Yeah, Vamp, like Darko said. You'll like it.
Instead of remaking it why can't they just do English voice-overs instead?

It's a vampire film with a little originality. You'll like it Vamp.

Still need to see the original one, so I really can't say anything.

I just finished watching the original. I thought it was amazing, subtle, no big explosions, no fancy over complicated shots, in other words it's not American.

On one hand I liked Cloverfield and on the other I think it shouldn't be remade. Knowing Hollywood they'll take out all of the key dialog and scenes and make it PG-13. It'll end up being just another Twilight.

The original is so good, the remake will ruin it. Like Darko said, it'll turn out PG-13.

It really should not be remade, but if they do maybe the main character will have kleenex available instead snot running into his mouth the whole time.

I agree with Comrade. Exactly my thoughts.
LTROI was a masterpiece.

Wow. There is absolutely no way this movie could be remade better than the original (which is a must see). I'll bet they remake it PG-13.

The comment below is exactly what I was going to say Comrade. Lol. God, I liked Cloverfield and he may shock us, but remaking it for America in just a year after its release is a slap in the face.

If he cared about the movie, he would port it for a broad U.S. release instead of f*cking remaking it... what does he think he can do better?

why dont they just distribute the original wide in the U.S.? This is lame. gonna f*ck this up and make it some teeny twighlight popcorn bullsh*t. f*cking *ssholes. I with Rock, 15 years until you can remakes something. There doing this same sh*t with Old Boy, and Will Smith of all f*cking people is going to play the lead. f*cking Gay Lords!!

This douche better not remake this film, Let the Right One In was a very good vampire movie. There is no reason why it should be remade. If he wants to remake a vampire movie, how about he does that piece of sh*t twilight crap.

I haven't watched it yet, but i got it on DVD.
I definately watch and post a review up for you guys.

Thats just stupid making a remake when it was just released, all because brain dead people can bother reading subtitles.. Does people in Hollywood not have an original taught in their brains... Seriously waste of money...

He seems to have a good idea on it. I haven't seen the movie but his interpretation seems smart.

I admire his comment but why the hell are they remaking this movie? It's so recent and perfect by itself. If anything, they should have brought it stateside to theaters while it was still fairly new.

"Alfredson has expressed unhappiness about the remake, saying that "Remakes should be made of movies that aren't very good, that gives you the chance to fix whatever has gone wrong" and expressing concern that the end result would be too mainstream."
