Matt Keeslar has signed on to star in the ABC Family Channel drama The Middleman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Natalie Morales and Mary Pat Gleason will also be joining the program.

The show is based on Javier Grillo-Marxuach's graphic novels of the same name. The stories will revolve around a young struggling artist (Morales) who is recruited by a secret agency to fight comic book-type villains. Keeslar is set to play the title character, while Gleason will star as Ida, the robotic gatekeeper and veteran assistant to Keeslar.

The show will go into production before the end of the year for a 2008 airdate.
