Matt Damon is in talks to star in The Monuments Men
We reported in October that Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville, and Bob Balaban have joined the cast. The story is adapted from Robert M. Edsel's novel that follows a group of historians and curators trying to recover the priceless artwork stolen by Adolf Hitler, before they are destroyed forever.
George Clooney will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with his producing partner Grant Heslov. George Clooney is also starring in an unspecified role. Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox are co-producing, with shooting to begin this coming January in Europe.
Matt Damon and George Clooney previously starred together in Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Thirteen, and Syriana.
The Monuments Men comes to theaters December 20th, 2013 and stars George Clooney, Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville, Bob Balaban. The film is directed by George Clooney.
