Master and Commander: The Far Side of The World Finally Sails Over to Blu-Ray on May 13th

An epic adventure on the wild blue sea is finally coming to Blu-Ray. According to DVD Town, Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World will get a release on Blu-Ray on May 13. The disc was originally slated for Blu-Ray in October of last year. The film stars Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany and was directed by Peter Weir.

Based on the best-selling novels of Patrick O'Brian, the film stars Russell Crowe as "Lucky" Jack Aubrey, who pits his crew of the H.M.S. Surprise against a more heavily armed and ruthless privateer, in a chase that takes him all the way to the far side of the world. Rising newcomer Paul Bettany plays the ship's surgeon Dr. Stephen Maturin.

    There were plans to do the rest of the books in the series but this was such a financial disaster. I thought it was okay, nothing too great. Never really cared for Peter Weir.
