Mary McCormack has signed on to star in the horror/thriller, 1408 for Dimension Films.

The actress takes over for Kate Walsh, who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Grey's Anatomy, says Variety. The film is the adaptation of the Stephen King novel about a haunted hotel. The film stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson; it centers around a debunker of paranormal occurrences who encounters real terror when he checks into the notorious room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel.

1408 is set to start shooting very soon in the U.K.

1408 was released June 22nd, 2007 and stars John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack, Tony Shalhoub, Len Cariou, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Jasmine Jessica Anthony, Paul Birchard. The film is directed by Mikael Håfström.
