Mary-Kate Olsen and Alex Pettyfer Get Beastly
Susan Cartsonis will be producing through her Storefront Films.
Daniel Barnz will be directing the project from a script he adapted. In the script, Olsen's character puts a curse on a handsome young man (Pettyfer), who gets physically transformed into everything he would never want to be.
The story is based on a fantasy novel from Alex Flinn. It is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast that takes place in New York. CBS picked up the feature rights to Beastly in 2007.
The film will start shooting June 13 in Montreal.
Beastly was released March 4th, 2011 and stars Alex Pettyfer, Justin Bradley, Mary-Kate Olsen, Dakota Johnson, Erik Knudsen, Vanessa Hudgens, Karl Graboshas, Peter Krause. The film is directed by Daniel Barnz.

Not that I'm bashing you, but it's a legitimate question when you love anything that targets teenage girls.
The title sucks, too. If they want a modern telling of Beauty of the Beast, they should have hired someone like Del Toro...not necessarily him, but someone like him
