Marvel's the Avengers plot details revealed
How'd you like that in your headline?
Marvel's the Avengers script leaked ages ago, so its quite amazing that more hasn't been said about the story up until now. A source close to the production (i.e. The bootlegger who has been selling these stolen scripts out of his backpack near the shopping carts at the Food 4 Less) confirms that quite a bit of this Joss Whedon directed ensemble superhero adventure was filmed in secret. Some of these scenes do, in fact, have Hugo Weaving reprising his role as Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger.
How does he fit into the storyline? And what have they done with the Skrulls? Check out this laundry list of details below.
- The Skrull: The aliens are now being called The Redacted and are a new version of The Skrulls. Fox still own Skrulls, so Marvel have changed them enough to not get sued. They're multicolored and are shape shifters.
- Thanos: Thanos is in the movie. There were rumors some months ago that Loki would do business with Thanos and they're true. Thanos is tricked by Loki in the movie. Basically, Loki has been collecting Infinity Gems and the Infinity Gauntlet, but tricks Thanos in to thinking that the Infinity Gauntlet is the most powerful. In return, Thanos gives him The Redacted.
- The Leviathan: The Leviathan is an alien serpent given to Loki by Thanos as a part of the deal.
- Red Skull: Red Skull is in the movie. Loki meets him on his travels. They split the 6 Infinity Gems between them. Loki takes the Mind, Reality and Power gems and Red Skull takes the Soul, Time and Space gems.
- Loki joins the Avengers: The Redacted discover that Loki tricked their master, and betray him. Hence Loki seemingly being on The Avengers side in some set photos.
If those aren't enough new details for you, a description of Marvel's the Avengers Lego sets continue the tradition of toys spoiling plot points. Here are the names of four upcoming sets, which clue you into some of the scenes we will see when the movie hits theaters this summer.
- Captain America's Avenging Cycle: Featuring Captain America, Nick Fury (+ a motorcycle)
- Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape: Featuring Loki, Thor, Captain America
- Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout: Featuring Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America
- Quinjet Aerial Battle: Featuring Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man (+ the Quinjet)
That ought to be enough to digest for a while. At this rate, the only thing about the movie that won't be spoiled before it hits theaters is the scene featuring a cameo from Ant-Man.
Ah, who cares? No one was going to see this stupid movie anyway. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel opens on the same day.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

This is just wrong. I saw the movie today, and many (if not, all) these "spoilers" are false.

I can't believe people actually think the aliens are called 'Redacted'. Look up the definition, then quit your job, because you're awful at researching your own articles.

Enough w/the damn spoilers Orange!
@slysnide You might be right, these are too specific descriptions of possible spoilers and seems like too much will be going on for the movie.

Correct me if i'm wrong. I don't read alot of comic books, and I only remember things from when I was a kid, but isn't Thanos one of the main Villians of The Silver Surfer?

I WILL FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE IF THIS IS TRUE..though i doubt it is..

This sounds way too complicated to be a big spoiler, or to even nail down as a coherent plot which'll work for all the avengers.

At least in the first part of the article, it says "Major Spoilers" which should warn us about it, if we don't want to read spoilers in the articles.

Hahahahaha.... Gotta love the sarcasm. lmao....
Now, as for the renaming the Skulls.. I thought if Marvel ownes the characters, they still could work a way to use the name. Hulk Hogan, owns the name HULK, but yet both Hulk movies has Hulk in the title and in the movie. Why not work out some sort of fee to use Skulls?

Confused on why Fox owns The Skrulls. Because of the old Marvel Animation Age cartoons shown on Fox Kids in the 1990s? I know they used the Kree and Skrulls in their cartoons, especially Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer, but those animated series' are from a long time ago, I would have thought the rights would have reverted back since then for a movie in 2012.

Not snarky enough, Orange. I liked the article, even the stupid headline, but I demand more snark. I want the juicy, green venom from your snark to infect the haters with the CancerAIDS.
All the plot stuff was interesting. It's not my most anticipated film of the summer, but I'll fork over my sixteen bucks. (I like nachos).

"The Redacted" sounds like tongue-in-cheek production speak. It's too bad Marvel whor*d out some of their properties and are left with a situation like this where they aren't able to use names from their own material.
