Marvel's The Avengers Empire Magazine Covers and Photos
Chinese New Year begins today, Monday, January 23rd, kicking of the year of the Water Dragon. Which is apropos, as Marvel's the Avengers will be fighting a water dragon when the feature film based on this Marvel comic hits the big screen in May. Today, we have a look at some neat Ang Pow packets that will be handed out at Chinese Theaters for the first six days of Chinese New Year, featuring these popular Marvel characters. We also have a look at this month's Empire Magazine covers, which feature Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), along with some fresh photos from the movie as well. Check them out below, followed by comments from producer Kevin Feige about the inclusion of Red Skull and the villains of the film.

Kevin Feige talks in Empire Magazine about the villains Marvel's the Avengers will square off against.
"Who said they were aliens. Closer...It's not Skrulls; I've been clear about that. Beyond that, we want to hide it. The identity of the alien race is not impactful. It exists in the comic books, but we're not setting up the Kree-Skrull war or anything like that."
He then comments on the Red Skull rumors.
"Was Skull vaporized at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm? That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in the future, but he's not in this one. I do have a comment on that. It's...oh, you're breaking up!"
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Oh, the new Bond chick looks pretty damn fine as well. Berenice Marlohe. I can't wait to see her in action. ;)

The Narrator: The Better Man
Captain looks pretty damn authentic. I'm surprised, in a good way.
Fiege is still a douche, though.

Love these covers, but isn't that just the same picture that came out with Thor? It looks similar

@Intoxicated that won't happen. For Captain America they wanted Hugh Jackman to play Wolverine for a cameo because Wolverine was around during that time. But 20th Century Fox owns the X-Men franchise so they weren't able to. Spider-Man will not be in The Avengers.

@Intoxicated That will NEVER happen..Why you ask? Because of your last sentence..

It has been rumored that Spider-Man will be making a cameo role in the movie, wich is bad idea, if spidey shows up in The Avengers, will he be played by Andrew Garfield? I mean the character is owned by Sony and not disney/marvel.

I think he might be in the Avengers. It's just that its kind of been kept "under wraps", or well sort of.

No red skull in The Avengers what a shame. What other villains are in the movie?

Oh and by the way, here's what they had to say about Iron Man:
"For those asking about Iron Man's suit, it's one of SEVERAL worn in the movie"
So their is going to be seven that's right seven different suits in The Avenger's hopefully we'll ge tto see the Hulkbuster!!
