Marvel's The Avengers cast members speak about their characters
Take a look at what they all had to say below.
Robert Downey Jr. - Iron Man
The actor behind the Iron Man suit talks about how Marvel's The Avengers always seemed like a fleeting possibility, more than an actual ensemble.
"Avengers has always been this kind of hovering [thing]. Is it really possible? I just think that it was an incredibly ambitious notion, and looking back at Marvel and their fledgling years, they always had a vision of this ... although not entirely accurately. In one teaser I say, 'I'm putting a team together,' and in the other one I'm like, 'What do you mean I can't join the team?' But aside from that, it kind of really tracks through."
Mark Ruffalo - The Incredible Hulk
Mark Ruffalo is the newest member of this superhero ensemble, and the actor has revealed that his character is a reluctant member of the team.
"The rage is something that is like going on a binger - you wake up after a blackout and you did all this f-ed up shit. Oh God, what did I do? And so we were talking about it like that, actually. [Banner] starts like he's sober in a weird way. He's started a whole new life when we find him, and it's cool."
Chris Evans - Captain America
Captain America has to go through the biggest transition in Marvel's The Avengers, getting acclimated to the 21st Century. The actor talked about how isolated Steve Rogers really is in this ensemble.
"I don't want to ruin anything, but the few people [Steve Rogers knew] who may be alive are probably in their 80s, and, for the most part, everyone is gone. He never had much family before, but anyone he could possibly consider close has gone by the wayside. Who does he have in the world? Nobody. Rogers is kind of defined by is his morals and values. In the '40s there was much more of value on those things. Things are a little more impersonal these days. It just lends itself to his sense of isolation."
Chris Hemsworth - Thor
Chris Hemsworth's character also has a bit of adjusting to do, although the actor reveals he's more mature than we saw him in Thor.
"There's a maturity to the character because of the journey he went on, certainly. He was a petulant sort of kid at the beginning of Thor, and by the end of it hopefully you walk away thinking that he is matured and there was a grounded quality to him that wasn't there before. There are certainly moments where Thor says things and there's a sideways glance from everybody: 'What the hell is this guy talking about?' He's not quite the odd one out as much as he was in Thor. These guys ... one of them wears an iron suit, one of them turns into a big, green monster. They all have these crazy personalities, and alter egos. They're misfits, and that's how they fit, in a funny way."
Jeremy Renner - Hawkeye
Aside from a brief cameo in Thor, we haven't really seen much of what Hawkeye can do, and the actor spoke about his character being on the fringe of this group.
"I'm on such the periphery. By nature of being a sniper on top of a building, the behavior of a sniper is a loner. He gets a call and comes and does his thing."
Scarlett Johansson - The Black Widow
As the only female in Marvel's The Avengers, you might think that The Black Widow would be the most emotional, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
"The Widow has no time for romance. She's a lover of all things. She has a love/hate relationship with I think everyone she meets in some way. Part of what makes her sexy is she takes no prisoners. You wouldn't grab her for a big old bear hug."

I'm still amazed that we're three months away from the release and still havn't seen an official poster. As anticipated as I am for this, I might skip the trailer tomorrow and wait it out.

@moviemaniac66 I completely agree.I mean she doesn't look very threatening with those 2 little pistols from the Super Bowl spot.Hopefully she will be a bad ass which I have no doubt she will be.I mean she is a highly trained spy after all. XD
p.s I Trust Nolan ;-)

@Heisenberg - Well i do love Whedon. He is great with characters and if there is one thing that he is a master at it is character dynamics but based on the summaries given to us, Black widow comes off as the most boring character out of all of them. There is nothing about her that really tells me that she is a strong character. But, as i said before, I believe that it will not be the case when it comes to the movie. I trust Whedon.

As for the first offical poster for the film, its not bad, but i get the feeling it has that Disney touch to it...I read Disney fired the marketing department for Marvel Studios when they bought them, kind of messed up in a way cuz marketing fro the previous films were great IMO...

It must suck for Johannson. Widow doesn't seem like that much of a character in the movie. I hope that it is not the case.
