Marvel Studios Gives Us a Production Update
It is now official that Kenneth Branagh is set to direct Thor. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film for Marvel, and the US release date has been confirmed to be July 16, 2010. No casting for Thor has been announced at this time.
Marvel also confirmed that Jon Favreau will direct Iron Man 2, and that Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle will all star. They did not confirm any of the rumors regarding which villains will appear, or who they will be played by. IM2 will begin principal photography in April of 2009.
Iron Man 2 was released May 7th, 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.
Thor was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh.

They should get Triple H or Bill Goldberg to play Thor - they already look the part. Kenneth Branagh should be great as director since he can handle the pseudo-Shakespeare dialogue from the comics and not make it come off as cheesey.

iron man 2 and thor are set for 2010 for marvel.Green Lantern for DC. that's not including any animated films. then in 2011 you have captain america, spiderman 4, and the avengers for marvel.the next superman, batman, wonder woman (possably), and justice league(possably), for DC. hope that helps.

I think the Hulk Vs. Thor animated feature had a pretty good depiction. At the very beginning we're removed from the Earth entirely, so we don't have to worry about where or when these things are happening, because things in Asgard can occur in an entirely different realm and timeframe. I wouldn't be surprised if the movie were majority Asgard, with an excuse for Thor to come to earth at the end.
