Shutter Island Trailer
Based on the novel Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. An atmospheric psychological thriller set in a 1950s asylum for the criminally insane. It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Shutter Island's Ashecliffe Hospital. He'd been gunning for an assignment on the island for reasons of his own -- but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister.
Teddy's code-breaking skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues proliferate, Teddy begins to doubt everything -- his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
Shutter Island comes to theaters October 2 from Paramount Pictures.
Shutter Island was released February 19th, 2010 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson, Jackie Earle Haley. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese.

I think it looks cool. Scorsesse always brings it home. I haven't read the book, but I might look into it before the flick comes out. I don't see the comparison to Gothika, but whatever, to each his own.

Martin Scorsese and horror haven't really ever met up, I'm shure it will be another masterpiece like always

When i watched this trailer for a second time, for some reason, Gothika came to mind. I'm suddenly losing interest in this.

No, Sly; a friend of mine sent me a copy of the screenplay. I'm not sure who passed it on to him, or where he got it, but then again, I forgot to ask.
Once agian, looks great. And who said this looks like Silent Hill?...Really...

Zz: how do you know that the screenplay follows the book very closely? You're not basing that on the trailer are you?

And to respond to some earlier comments, this is not even close to a "horror" film. Suspense, thriller, drama: yes.
But "horror:" no...

The book is excellent; the screenplay follows it very closely; I expect a great, award worthy film. Based on the material and the trailer, hopefully this is the film to snag Leo that Oscar.
"Who is patient 67?"
One of my top anticipated films! Can't wait!

I agree DaleJr88, this not only looks intense, but suspenseful, and thrilling! And it's Martin Scoresese whose already proven to be good at flicks like this, such as Robert DeNiro in "Cape Fear." Mark Ruffalo's a good actor too, though he's not in much of the trailer. JCL & BK are also unusual choices as they don't typically appear in films like this that often. I'm definitely seeing this opening night.

You know Newkill you are so f*cking annoying. Every topic you just bash. You never have anything nice to say. What the f*ck are you doing on a movie website when all you do is bitch about them? I mean seriously. This looks good and Scorsese is a very good director. The same for MI4. JJ Abrams made one of the best sci fi films (and one of the best reviewed films of the year) and you hated it. You also hated Up. You are like the only person who hated that movie. And you don't have a reason to hate it. You just want to be the single voice of opposition. I know I cannot be the only person to notice this trend. So please, enlighten me. What movies do you ACTUALLY like. I swear to God you're just as bad as Armond White the critic.

Well i'm glad it's not another gangster movie, not that any of Scorsese's movie's are bad but I'm looking forward to seeing something different from him, especially a psychological thriller. Ima def. check this out. Seems like there's a lot more to the story then what it seems..
