Martin Scorsese to Direct Frank Sinatra Biopic

Director Martin Scorsese is going back to the biopic for his latest project. According to Variety, Scorsese has signed on to direct Sinatra, a biopic of legendary singer/actor Frank Sinatra.

Phil Alden Robinson is writing the screenplay based off the life of the late singer and actor for Universal Pictures and Mandalay Pictures. Both companies have been developing the project for over a year, after securing the star's life rights and music rights, a process which took years to finish.

Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman are producing the film. No production schedule was given at this time.

He doesn't always get Leo to play in his films, Soylent.
Dicaprio ain't in his new film Shutter Island.

I guess there will be some haters on the casting choice of JT getting the role but i reckon JT has the facial structure for Sinatra, plus his a musician, i'm just having a hard time imagining him in the rat pack style clothing and does he have the voice...?

While Leo does but he doesn't have the facial structure similarities to Sinatra.

But here is my unknown and hoesntly i saw this guys 2day and he is in my version the perfect role for Sinatra.

Google search 'Steve Tyrell' - He does covers to Sinatra's songs and does look like him.
I.E No one else can sing like Sinatra like this guy, so either way some how he will be involved.

I also call for this to be titled 'Rat-Pack' or 'Sinatra and the Rat-Pack'

Has to be something including the rat pack in the title because i notice that all Scorsese films have Rat Pack style music, which rules and gives more a groove.

I second Zz's comment. Martin Scorsese soundtracks rule.

I second Soylent's comment, on Leo he has the look, the style plus he has a great singing voice.

I'm trying to think of actors that have great singing voices.

I was going to say Justin Timberlake but now that i think of it i don't know weather this is a good or bad decision.
But does JT have the voice.....hmmmmm?

Good subject for bio-pic!best person to direct.
Leo is great but he's the WORST choice for Franky!

Should go with an unknown on this so not to have any comparisons.

Cool, it's about time that Sinatra got a quality theatrical movie. I'm just waiting on a biopic of Elvis like the great Johnny Cash- Walk the Line movie.

I don't know who could possibly play Sinatra, but I can't imagine a project like this being in more capable hands. Sounds awesome.

Very cool news. I thought Scorsese was doing a movie about Dean Martin, but this would be much better.
