Martin Scorsese has signed on to direct a documentary about the legendary reggae musician Bob Marley. According to Variety, Shangri-La Entertainment, Scorsese and Fortissimo Films will team up for the untitled project, which will be produced by Tuff Gong pictures.

The Bob Marley documentary, which was authorized by Marley's family, will reunite Shangri-La, Scorsese and Fortissimo, who worked together on the Rolling Stones' picture Shine a Light.

The untitled Bob Marley documentary is scheduled to be release on February 6th, 2010, on what would have been Marley's 65th birthday.
