Mark Ruffalo might not portray the motion-captured Hulk in The Avengers
"My life: Just auditioned to play the Hulk (motion capture) in the new Avengers movie. Pretty damn cool job!"
The news contradicts a report from September where Mark Ruffalo revealed he would not only portray Bruce Banner, but the motion-captured Hulk component of his character as well. Here is Mark Ruffalo's statement from September:
"I'm really excited. No one's ever played the Hulk exactly, they've always done CGI. They're going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I'll actually play the Hulk. That'll be fun."
It seems that plan for Mark Ruffalo to put on the CGI suit has been scrapped. It is possible that Brandon Molale could be playing the CGI Hulk's stunt double for all the big action set pieces, with Mark Ruffalo also performing as the CGI version of the Hulk.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

@EJK1 --> i never complained about it, you said only Norton was re-cast, all i said was that there were more that were re-cast, and you never said anything about main or secondary, i was just pointing out that there were more re-castings....

Marvel is quickly loosing favor in my eyes, save for what Sony still has of their properties (Spider-Man). Mice should stick to cartoons and leave comics alone!

I think the Norton ship has sailed. The longer you hold onto that, the greater the possibility that you will have a bias against The Avengers.

btw I thought GI Joe sucked, im just putting the budget into comparrison, makes it difficult to see something like the avengers really get into it with a limited budget like that.

yeh, true, I still think ed should play banner though, it's a shame he's one of those possessive actors, but Marvel is definately screwing up here, I mean 150 mill budget for their biggest film, it deserves a 300 mill, because everyone knows it will deliver. GI Joe had 150 mill, and I don't know about anyone else, but more EPIC effects are always good. Now we have an avengers limiting itself and trying to make profit more than getting it right, these studio decisions have been pissing me off for so long, the best example being Fox's Dragonball disaster, bad cast generally, bad creative direction, bad director, severely under budget - 30 million... I just don't want them limiting what could be their biggest movie.

Ruffalo will do great, no worries. Who cares about those side characters lol. As long as Iron Man himself isn't recast (and Pepper Potts, since she's his girlfriend now) I'm fine with however they proceed, Avengers or IM.

Rhodey, Happy, and Howard Stark? That's what you're upset about? Seriously? The recasting of side characters, none of which will affect The Avengers, is what you're bringing to the table? I'll give you Rhodey, but Happy, who had how much dialogue? A few lines in each IM movie? And different people to play Howard Stark at different times of his life? If these minor changes are bothering you, by all means, stay home in May 2012. I really don't want to read anyone's gripes about how the role of Tony Stark's DRIVER was given to someone else. My God, Happy and Howard Stark? Get a life, guys.

I think Norton was a better fit for Banner then Ruffalo is gonna be, Banner is supposed to be scrawny and somewhat of a pushover but yet a really intelligent scientist, the complete opposite of his Hulk form. Norton portrayed that very well, even physically being scrawny and bullied in the film. I noticed on the animated show Avengers:Earth Mightiest Heroes, the Banner on there resembles Nortons look, Ruffalo is a good actor but doesnt look the role, i dont know, just thinking out loud here, well see how it turns out...

What are you talking about? Only Bruce Banner was changed. The Hulk is CGI, so it really doesn't matter who is in the suit. You can't include FF, Spider-Man, or X-Men. This is a totally separate animal.

i think that the stop action/stop motion capture tenchinuque will work well with the hulk. I did not mind his look and movements in either of the other films but IMO it seemed a but cartoonish and unrealistic. This might give our new hulks movements a more realistic feel? fingers crossed.

@moviegeek1, it isn't fake. Ruffalo honestly released that statement nearly half a year ago in regards to playing the Hulk. He just didn't know what the hell he was talking about. :P
