Mark Ruffalo is all set to star in Fernando Meirelles' film Blindness. According to Variety, the film will also star Julianne Moore.

The script is based on Jose Saramago's novel of the same name. The plot revolves around a town that experiences an outbreak of blindness. Ruffalo will play a doctor who loses his sight. Moore is playing his wife, one of the few people in town that can still see.

Shooting is set to begin this summer in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
