Marcia Gay Harden is the latest to star in The Christmas Cottage for Lionsgate.

The film is based on the life of American painter Thomas Kinkade and his painting of the same name. The Hollywood Reporter says Harden will play Thomas Kinkade's mother, Maryanne; Jared Padalecki will play Kinkade, and Peter O'Toole will play Glen Wessler, based on one of Kinkade's mentors.

Michael Campus will direct the film, which goes into production this month in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.; a holiday release is scheduled for The Christmas Cottage.

Thomas Kinkade's Home for Christmas was released November 11th, 2008 and stars Jared Padalecki, Marcia Gay Harden, Peter O'Toole, Aaron Ashmore, Richard Burgi, Geoffrey Lewis, Chris Elliott, Richard Moll. The film is directed by Michael Campus.
