Man of Steel Smallville Farmhouse Photos

Director Zack Snyder is hard at work on Man of Steel, his Superman reboot for Warner Bros. He is currently in Plano, Illinois, which will be standing in for Smallville, U.S.A. New set photos have arrived showing off the Clark family farmhouse and the Smallville High School (actually Plano Centennial Elementary). Check them out below for a taste of what this iconic superhero adventure has in store.

Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

    @dan1 No big deal to me. Nick Fury has morphed into a black man over the last twenty years, and of course Heimdall was payed by Idris Elba. Changing those on the periphery is just not a big deal. With that said, I'm not sure Fishburne is the choice I would have came up with as Perry White. He just seems to laid back to play that role.

    I just hope that all the wait and after the trailer is put together it will shut all the doubters up!!! I think regardless of Zack Snyder and who the final writers will be, the stars will and the visuals will make this truly one of the best Superman movies ever made. I can guarantee Snyder will unleash a Superman we have never seen before. This movie will be more graphic and might even have a much darker tone than the other Superman movies. I bet Zod and Faora will be like nothing we have ever seen.

    @newtron @escapist I don't think they are shooting yet, but rather picking out locations. As far as I know, the rewrites have yet to be completed, so it doesn't make sense to start shooting without a script.

    @ejk1 i respect your honest opinion on it and i do agree that i am not rooting for that neither i just want man of steel to get the same respect the way dark knight has gotten. now you are right that goyer did make that garbage film crow city of angels but when i think of goyer i remember him doing blade and thinking damn this dude knows how to write a comic book movie. but i didnt know that jonathan nolan passed on rewrite work for goyer because he couldnt fix the script? what does that mean i wonder? is the script bad or worse is it a mistake to put your name on a film that may be a bust. snyder is a great director...not a great writer but everyone has their hits and misses. i need a trailer zack lol but your opinions is respected ejk1

    @gina39 To be honest, I think this film will bust. Now don't get me wrong--I'm not rooting for that. However, I don't have as much faith in Snyder as I'd like to have. As for Goyer, he has been a hit and miss writer. His movie list includes garbage like Crow: City of Angels, and he actually did not write the screenplay for TDK. Chris and Jonathan Nolan did that; Goyer just came up with the story with Chris. How much of TDK is attributable to Goyer is somewhat debatable. And consider that Jonathan Nolan decided to pass on doing the rewrites for Goyer: was that because he felt he couldn't fix Goyer's script? I don't know, but all of this makes me feel uneasy for Big Blue.

    @ejk1 i know that david goyer was the orginal screenplay writer and nolan is the producer of the film and i didnt know that kurt johnstad was doing the rewrite work. just saying that when zack did the watchmen it wasn't written by him it was written by someone else. i think that is safe to say that i am glad he is not writing this project. like i said before after sucker punch failed i would think that nolan would get a different director to handle the film as you can see it got moved to 2013...the film will not come out during the geek fest year of comics book movies.

    @gina39 Snyder didn't write Man of Steel. David Goyer wrote the original screenplay, and now Kurt Johnstad, who wrote 300 for Snyder, is doing rewrites.

    okay nice house...after watching sucker punch i was rather disappointed that zack will be directing an iconic superhero. i think that zack does better movies with other peoples script because i really love the watchmen . i just hope he doesnt mess this movie up because sucker punch really shows us that writing is not his strongest quality.
