And to finalise on your Green Lantern point.

DC believe they can make GL into a profitable franchise, now yes they can but unfortunately they messed that right up when they proficiently put Ryan Reynolds to star in Green Lantern as Ryan Reynolds... Instead of the fans chosen, Bradley Cooper or the under rated Ryan Gosling... As well any DC fan, writer, reviewer, film maker etc will tell you that Ryan Reynolds more suit the Flash's personality on the side of DC.
Ahhh and the other way they messed up by having multiple writers totalled to the number of four and only one of them, was a GL fanatic, who is going to be writing Green Lantern 2...

And as for Green Lantern's box office number its barely touched $150 million worldwide, which it cost $200 million to make plus add on approximately $100 million for marketing totalling its budget to a sky-rocketing $300 million and the film has barely touched half its total budget...

    You do the math kiddo

oooo @superman81 and yes btw i'm anticipating this movie, I'd like to see what Synder will do with it, despite i've read the first few pages of the script which is well in broad sense that of the typical Synder flick but still none the less excited, and yeah i'm glad of the movie because as i stated to someone else, many people don't like going cinema in the winter, so hence Summer will create a bigger profit margin and also it gives them 6 more months to tweak and perfect anything, if anything shall go wrong.

    @superman81
If you noticed i fairly agree with @ejk1 , because in term he did make strong points, and well you don't need to wait for some visuals, Its Zack Bleeding Synder, so you know what to expect, impressive visuals with a bland plot which in fair sense is trying to imitate the origin story formula that Batman Begins initiated.
Both David Goyer & Christopher Nolan have disbanded themselves from the project, and they only disband themselves with reason, not because they're working on other projects. As for both Nolan and Goyer have done very hefty workloads in the past....And really Goyer dropping out of doing rewrites for Man Of Steel to write Godzilla & Ghost Rider 2... It clearly don't add up.

Now on to my TDKR debate, I work in a cinema. One of the biggest question we keep getting is 'When is the next Batman film coming out?' After of course they've seen Harry Potter and then when they find out they're answer, they make a pretty big fuss on why the f*ck, Warner Brothers is advertising like a year in advance in cinema.... So erm yeah it will be a success considering that Nolan's Batman trilogy has a hype behind it, especially with this one being the conclusion and the rise of Batman's epic beginning, fall and rise story arc told through 3 movies.

@ejk1 You win man! You know it all. I can't compete with your superior knowledge and intellect. You seem to have inside knowledge and know it all. I'll save a tree and not worry about writing any notes for two years from now. I'm gonna actually wait for a trailer and some pictures before I pass judgement. No sense in thinking I know why Jonathan Nolan wouldn't do the rewrites, or why Goyer wrote the script and went on to another job to make money on. I'm just going to let it all unfold. Good luck with your theories and speculation.

@superman81 what part of, "Go get a piece of paper and a pen. Write down what I said, and put it in a safe place. In two years, if I'm proven wrong, you can throw it in my face, and I'll happily accept it because that will mean a great movie came about" did you not understand? As far as "idiotic assumptions, here's what we know: Nolan left months ago. Goyer couldn't be bothered to stick around for rewrites because he felt Godzilla was more pressing. And Jonathan Nolan passed on doing the rewrites. Kurt Johnstad is doing rewrites, which are possibly the reason the film was pushed back. That means extensive rewrites could be happening. Johnstad is Zach Snyder's usual writing partner. Johnstad and Snyder have not written masterpieces. Based on track record, it is probable that they will not create one here. That is what I base my "idiotic assumptions on. So, let's see what you base your ideas off of, shall we? "Think what you want but if Superman Returns could make 200 million, and it was not good at all. Then I'm sure Man of steel is going to be twice as good." Yes, that is wonderful thinking, that right there. Yep, you win. I simply can't compete with that logic, or rather, lack thereof ;)

Well, one things for sure, this picture is officially Christopher Nolan free, well except for Zack Snyder still directing. It had better pay off with the now 2 year wait! You hear that Snyder!?! You officially have plenty of time to bring us a fine tuned kick ass movie! You did it with Dawn Of The Dead and 300. A great stroryline and character development is all I ask. As for CGI, I do hope it is utilized appropriately. As long as It helps tell the story rather then become the story...Good Luck!

@ejk1 first I'm not a kid and yes I an a fan of superman. Your ideas and comments are less than stellar. Other than the cast which is pretty damn good, nothing else has been revealed. No pics or trailers. Ur going to make idiotic assumptions which is fine but don't expect to not be called on it. Have a great day.

Sucks that they are moving it back but I guess that will give them enough time to make it as awesome as they hope.

This film is going to be incredible. This is the film that Snyder was MEANT to direct.....and I love how they are bringing the real world events into play, bringing the west Africa conflicts in as a subplot. That goes to show that they are taking the "Dark Knight" approach in the sense that they are keeping it grounded in a reality based world that will likely be darker than previous installments. I friggin love it!!! Cant wait.

@superman81 BOMB. Bloated cast. Goyer jumping ship. My words. Don't go after Ottley if you're upset at what I said. And as for that, here's what you do kid: Go get a piece of paper and a pen. Write down what I said, and put it in a safe place. In two years, if I'm proven wrong, you can throw it in my face, and I'll happily accept it because that will mean a great movie came about. If I'm right, you can just throw that little pice of paper away, and no one will call you on it. I can forgive your little insult at the end because you're clearly a fanboy with less than an objective view on the matter, and seeing your favorite get trashed makes you all types of angry, but go after the right guy next time, okay?

@jayaottley if green lantern was such a failure, then why is DC doing a sequel?? Hmmm!!! And saying that TDKR is going to be a spectacular success is really jumping the gun. Man of Steel hasnt even started filming and just because they announce a 2013 release date everyone starts shouting BOMB!!! Man of steel has a bloated cast?? Look at the Nolan Batman movies. They have bloated cast as well. Goyer wrote the script, he didn't jump ship. He just can't do rewrites cause he is doing another movie. Think what you want but if Superman Returns could make 200 million, and it was not good at all. Then I'm sure Man of steel is going to be twice as good. Damn at least wait for a trailer or some pics before yall start running your Dick suckers.

@brian Rogers wtf are you babbling about?? First off WB and DC never said that 2012 was going to be the release date for Man of Steel. That date was just some sh*t floating out there. Even a WB exec today said they never had the date set. Maybe Siegel and Schuster Superman is dead but DC ain't gonna kill off the money maker. Superman coming out in the summer is better anyways. And everyone saying Batman this and Batman that, answer this...how good would Batman reboot have been if not for Nolan??? Let's see how great Batman does after WB and DC reboot it again after TDKR. People better pray Man of Steel is the most epic movie WB puts out, cause if not DC and their movie career is what's going to be dead. This is why I wish Smallville was still on.

When MW posted the news about them adding writers to the film I knew they wouldn't make a 2012 date. You simply can't make a superhero flick in 18 months when the script isn't even finished.

And after Sucker Punch I'm really kinda scared what Snyder will do (even though I kinda liked SP). Heck, at least we know we'll see Supes in a few awesome slow-mo battles.

WB and DC better make this count cause after The Dark Knight Rises they won't have any other important superhero to make some money off.

Release date delays are BAD BAD BAD. The people at WB, the brilliant minds that are tied to DC comics, who have also plotted very deliberatly the death of Superman for real, look for the double play? As this twisted bastard of a mis conception hangs upon the brink of the big reveal two years from now, it will either be worth the wait, or be so disappointing, the wait will have finally put the last nail in the coffin for our beloved Man of Steel. Break out the old 1990's black bagged comic when Superman died, I have a feeling, this will be one he wont come back from. Im out, gonna go read some 1950's Wyne Boring Superman, classic and timeless. Poor WB numbskulls. Rest in peace Kal El, we'll always remember the good old days.

Alright, I'm saying it right now, so write it down if you want to make me eat my words in two years: THIS FILM WILL BE A BOMB. It has a bloated cast, a story that does not seem all that riveting, and a director that does not make story, a necessity for successful comic adaptations, his top priority. Christopher Nolan left months ago, Goyer recently jumped ship, Jonathan Nolan wouldn't even get on, and now Snyder has his usual writer doing rewrites. I am putting in a vote of "No Confidence" for this film. Will I eventually be proven right? Hopefully not, but DC/WB has given me no reason to believe that this film will be any good.
