Malin Akerman Leaks a Little Watchmen Info
Can you talk about Watchmen a little bit? You guys are in the middle of shooting right now, aren't you?
Malin Akerman: I haven't started. They stared filming this week. But I have just been in there doing some fight training.
You've been doing fight training? What has that experience been like?
Malin Akerman: It's very impressive. Right now, I feel like I could take on anybody. Which, I don't know if that's a good thing, because I actually can't.
Are you excited about being in this movie?
Malin Akerman: I am so excited. When I first stared, I didn't know anything about the Watchmen. I didn't know what the comic book was when I read for it. I'd only read the script. And I loved the script. After I went and read for the part, I then went and got the graphic novel. I realized what a phenomenal thing this was to be a part of. We went to Comic Con, and we got a chance to see all of the fans. It has just become phenomenal. It's great, because its such an opposite thing from the The Heartbreak Kid. It's nice to do something that is not comedy.
Peter Farrelly: Yeah, it's a nice choice.
Malin Akerman: Peter and Bobby are like uncles to me. They always give me the best advice. They have always said, "Try and do something other than comedy after this."
Peter Farrelly: I always wanted her to do something other than comedy after this. I knew that future directors would offer her every comic role. And she'll do that again, obviously. But I wanted her to separate herself from the pack. I wanted directors to be able to look at her and go, "She did this? But she can also do the other thing?" She's got that.
Malin Akerman: Now I'm just trying to pull it off. We'll see what happens.
You haven't been on the Watchmen set yet?
Malin Akerman: No, I haven't been on the set yet.
The Heartbreak Kid opens on October 5th, 2007. Watchmen opens March 6th, 2009.
Watchmen was released March 6th, 2009 and stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Carla Gugino, Matt Frewer. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.
