The film is an adaptation of a Joyce Maynard novel and follows Frank Chambers (Josh Brolin), an escaped convict who seeks shelter with a depressed single mom (Kate Winslet) and her teen son over Labor Day weekend.
Jason Reitman is directing, writing, and producing with Helen Estabrook from his Right of Way Films. Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith are producing for Mr. Mudd.
We reported yesterday that Tom Lipinski also joined. Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin have already been attached to star.
Labor Day comes to theaters December 25th, 2013 and stars Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Clark Gregg, James Van Der Beek, Tobey Maguire, Maika Monroe, Dylan Minnette, Gattlin Griffith. The film is directed by Jason Reitman.
