Magnolia Pictures' genre division, Magnet Releasing, has just picked up the rights to the drama Special. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama will be Hal Haberman and Jeremy Passmore's feature writing and directing debut.

Michael Rapaport has signed on to star in Special. Rappaport will play a comic book-obsessed meter maid who enters a clinical trial for a new drug that inhibits self-doubt. The resulting delusions lead him to a series of misadventures. Josh Peck and Paul Blackthorne have also signed on to co-star in the up-coming drama.

Magnolia Pictures has scheduled to release Special late this summer.

Special was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Michael Rapaport, Paul Blackthorne, Josh Peck, Robert Baker, Jack Kehler, Alexandra Holden, Ian Bohen, Christopher Darga. The film is directed by Hal Haberman, Jeremy Passmore.
