Madonna's W.E. Trailer
Pop icon Madonna has never fared well as an actress, so now she makes her directorial debut with the romantic drama W.E. Early reviews from Cannes say that she's as good an actress as she is a director. But don't let that negative word of mouth stand in the way of your own judgment. The first trailer for this decade spanning tale of desire has arrived. Now you can see for yourself what all the fuss is about. Check out the first footage from W.E. below.
W.E. was released February 3rd, 2012 and stars Abbie Cornish, Andrea Riseborough, James D'Arcy, Oscar Isaac, Richard Coyle, David Harbour, James Fox, Judy Parfitt. The film is directed by Madonna.

couple things. (1) this is not madonna's debut as a director. she is credited as a writer and director for "Filth and Wisdom" (2008)
(2) to be honest i didn't find the trailer all that boring or unappealing; however, seeing her name attached to it at the end ("a film by madonna") killed any interest the trailer piqued in me.
the trailer wasn't bad, but to be honest it was kind muddled. too much was trying to be done. it even seemed to switch directions smack in the middle. the cast is a reason (especially dormer!) i'd be interested in seeing this, but maybe only if it was on instant streaming on netflix.

@m2, agreed, the more I see Isaac's performances, the more I like him. I'm sure I'll eventually check this out for him.

Heard bad reviews for this from Venice, but I'm a fan of Isaac so I might just give it a look.

Hmmmmm anyone want me to see this on Monday and review it for you guys, special screening. I'm tempted to see how Madonna performs as a director.

Take Madonna's name outta the frame, and this actually looks pretty good.
