Madea's Family Reunion Tops the Box Office Again

Lionsgate's Madea's Family Reunion enjoyed a second go-round at the top of the boxoffice this weekend with an estimated $13 million, says The Hollywood Reporter. The PG-13 comedy, starring, written and directed by Tyler Perry, opened last weekend with $30 million -- the biggest debut of the year.

Warner Bros.' actioner 16 Blocks starring Bruce Willis and Mos Def and directed by Richard Donner debuted in second place with an estimated $11.7 million. Last weekend's runner-up film, Buena Vista's Eight Below, mushed its way into third place with an estimated $10.3 million.

Screen Gems' Ultraviolet starring Milla Jovovich opened in fourth place with an estimated $9 million. 20th Century Fox's PG-rated Aquamarine swam away with an estimated $7.5 million in its first weekend to take No. 5 on the chart.

The weekend's only other new wide release, Dave Chappelle's Block Party from Focus Features' Rogue banner, collected an estimated $6.5 million from 1,200 theaters, less than half the engagements of the other new openers. Final figures will be released Monday.

Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion was released February 24th, 2006 and stars Tyler Perry, Blair Underwood, Lynn Whitfield, Boris Kodjoe, Lisa Arrindell Anderson, Maya Angelou, Rochelle Aytes, Jenifer Lewis. The film is directed by Tyler Perry.
