One film Trejo is definitely still in is Robert Rodriguez's Machete, which has been long-rumored to be rolling forward. Well now it is! Trejo said he just talked to Rodriguez yesterday and was told they would begin shooting in 5 weeks. Guess that ends the debate on what Rodriguez's next film is going to be.
The site was also reporting that Trejo was not appearing in the new Sylvester Stallone film, The Expendables, debunking rumors that he did have a role in the film.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on any forthcoming news on Rodriguez's new Machete film, which is a full-length feature based off the trailer seen during the "intermission" of Grindhouse.
Machete was released September 3rd, 2010 and stars Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson. The film is directed by Ethan Maniquis, Robert Rodriguez.

Danny Trejo is NOT lead material, and rightfully so.
As a teenager i was a QT follower; PULP FICTION/RESERVOIR DOGS were memorized like a prayer. It changed what we thought was COOL.
But lately i have realized QT he is more of an imitator rather than a creator. I respect RODRIGUEZ, but i do not look forward to his films, but he is MORE talented than QT.
All his movies are simply paying homage to a bygone era/film style. He is not unique or creative. He hasn't given us anything new since PULPFICTION. KILL BILL was heaps of fun, and a good movie, but nothing new.
I hated GRINDHOUSE, i will simply say it is not my kinda of film. I do understand that many people enjoyed it. MACHETE will be the same vein.

its about friggin' time..the name Machete has been rolling around in certain films for years...check out the Spy Kids trilogy...he is in Spy Kids 2 and Machete is mentioned a couple times..not sure about the first or third..I just watched #2 on Cartoon Network, so thats how I know he is in it...plus, of course, Grindhouse also..can't wait for this...Danny Trejo is one of my favorite supporting actors...

whether or not this movie is going to be bad, it will be great to see Danny Trejo in a lead role.
