Lyle Lovett and Harry Dean Stanton Hit The Open Road

Lyle Lovett and Harry Dean Stanton have joined Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges on The Open Road. Kate Mara and Mary Steenburgen also star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stanton will play the grandfather of Timberlake's character, a young man trying to reconcile with his father (Bridges) as he heads home to his ill mother's bedside. Lovett will play a Memphis bartender who lends a helpful ear to Timberlake.

Writer-director Michael Meredith (Three Days of Rain) is currently shooting the project in Louisiana and other Southern locales.

The Open Road was released August 28th, 2009 and stars Justin Timberlake, Allen O. Battle III, Tamera Bennett, Jeff Bridges, LaVita Brooks, Paxton Brown, J. Omar Castro, Loyd Catlett. The film is directed by Michael Meredith.
