Luke Cage Trailer Featuring Isaiah Mustafa

Actor Isaiah Mustafa, best known for his Old Spice commercials and his appearances on Chuck, is actively lobbying to play superhero Luke Cage in a big screen adaptation of the popular Marvel character. Isaiah Mustafa now stars in a mysterious Luke Cage teaser trailer that has seemingly come out of nowhere, and seems to be part of the actor's campaign to land the part, once believed to belong to Tyrese Gibson. Check out this mystery teaser trailer below.

    who the hell is luke cage, heard of hardware, steel, young bloodz, spawn, but never no luke cage. Also heard of Static, and since he had his own series and appeared in a few other series, so that character has a shot in its own movie than unknown black hero named luke cage.

    @u1sart If I was a movie corp executive, I'd would rather not gamble who knows how many millions of dollars on a relatively unknown actor for a relatively not so awesome marvel character in a movie and turn out to be a bomb. I'd rather have a known actor for a relatvely unknown marvel character.

    I love Mustafa's passion for the role, but I just don't see Marvel casting him. It would be too much of a gamble casting a relative unknown for a role that doesn't even have a lukewarm following in comic book circles.

    I like reading the luke cage in the comics, great character. I have always like the power super heros of marvel and cage is one of them. I dont think that mustafa fits the role though for cage, but maybe more for black panther. I think someone like Michael Clark Duncan would fit the role for cage better. Any ways look forward to either movie being made or both.

STFU... yea just said it.. and that completes what i said.. oh is it that Luke CAGE is black you think he is not worthy to be in a movie? dude chillout.. I hate when dudes like u just sit and blab about new ideas in coming up with movies.. I have seen too many freaking white superheros i cant even remember anyone mentioning the greenlight on a black superhero.. and come on man if you are a avid comic book reader.. you will kno that Luke cage. represents a more vengeful extreme super hero..

    I didn't even know they where making a Luke Cage movie. I am a fan & I think it's cool that Marvel is expanding there movie franchises because they have a lot of characters & groups they can go to. & those saying Luke Cage is not big enough to do a movie. You have to remember that even though Iron Man was popular then Luke Cage Iron Man was not that popular until after the movie. & I also think DC is starting to follow this trend to by doing a GL movie it doesn't have to be Batman & Superman every time even though I love them I just want to see other DC movies. I would love to see a TT movie or DR. Fate

    Why is everyone arguing like if Marvel makes a Luke Cage film, they somehow won't have enough money to make a Black Panther film or any other hero films? They are working on multiple projects, some bigger and some smaller, they are building a universe piece by piece and they have the money to do it all, so let both Black Panther and Luke Cage be made... and if Mustafa is the right actor for this role, then let him lobby or it, there's no harm in him at least trying to show us what he can do.

    I would never have pictured this guy for the role, but it could work. I thought Tyrese was pretty much a lock for this, though. He'd be good. But the character is sort of generic enough that there could be many actors who would fit the role. I agree with @k-man that Elba would be an awesome choice, but I disagree that he's the ONLY choice. Plus, Marvel/Disney owns the rights to the Cage character, so they're not going to case Elba in the role since he's already Heimdall in that universe.

    I can't stand the Old Sp*ce commercials, and I think Isaiah is a little small in build compared to Luke Cage, but I would be willing to watch him give the role a shot. A movie based on a lesser popular character (compared to X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk...etc.) can work if done right. It would be a change from the costumed heroes in movies. Bring on Cage and Fist, and you have a good idea for a movie.

    @moviemaniac66 seriously i think u dont kno sh*t.. you say you are a black person but tend to focus on everyone else who is trying to make them self be known.. I think Mustaga is a good actor... as dumb as this sound the old sp*ce commercial was well acted.. because of the type of flagrant person he has to be to do the commercial so why not see what he can do for this.. instead on choosing someone in the limelight aready.. give the dude a chance man SMDH!!!

    What i hate about you guys is that... You all never seem to give directors or up and coming actors a chance to shine you guys prefer to go against everything that is TRYING.. i think i would give him a chance to try "Luke Cage".. which will be interesting cause i cant see no types of black superheroes hitting the limelight and i kno most of you who is against luke cage and basically because hes black.. but if you are a true comic fan you will know that "Luke Cage" is one of the extreme and dark super heros in Marvel.. SO SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!!
