Logan Lerman may be our next web slinger
The first name has come up as to who will play the new young web slinger in Sony's upcoming superhero reboot. Access Hollywood recently chatted with Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Lightning Thief star Logan Lerman, who revealed he was in talks to play the new Spider-Man.

"There have been a few discussions, it's definitely something I'm looking into," Logan told Billy on Thursday.

The 18-year-old actor said he's been a hardcore fan of the web-slinger for years.

"It's one of my favorite characters ever and I'm a huge fan of the series," he continued. "I'd love to have more conversations about it. I'm definitely very interested in it."

While Lerman said he was interested in the role, he also said that the studio was interested in him for the role as well, although they are still in just early talks at this time.

Thanks to Christopher Nolan rebooting Batman, every comic based movie has to meet these new standards. I cant wait to see how this turns out. Spiderman needs a dark gripping story without focusing too much on comedic breaks during screen time. I got faith that Lerman will do this character justice.

ok, maybe i'm just a Hursh fan comparing the other youngsters around.

Tikurod, actually we are in agreement about the SPIDEY franchise...i HATED THE SERIES...i only enjoyed the 2nd one, the rest were too campy for my taste and 3 was god awful.

what i meant with my 'stay the same' comment was aimmed at casting. i didn't even like tobey very much, but the one thing that worked in his favor was that he's a MAN-CHILD. Leo Caprio also falls into this rare category. They can play characters FAR younger than their actual ages.

this way you get a mature actor playing a young role. Rather than getting a kid who's wet behind the ears.
i'm RELEIEVED they are rebooting this campy series...i'm just not sure of the direction they are going...

I kind of agree,on some parts, with (TiJuRod). Stick to the comics, and that Hursh guy, NOOO.....
and on (Illuminati's) part...the kid is too young, idk.....But hey, all in all, a different story line and different cast, and better producers is what this franchise needs to get off the ground and start shooting webs again.

I dont wanna start an argument or anything so plz dont take this the wrong way (Illuminati) but Emile Hursh... NOOO... and Kristen Dunst sucked as MJ. and the Peter Parker in the trilogy was so winey he really pissed me off in Spider-Man 3 idk im kinda happy there rebooting the series. And they killed it with that new goblin James franco was cool though, but why call him the new goblin instead of Green Goblin or Hobgoblin idk I just hope this guy sticks to the Comics and fixes the mess Raimi made. trust me (Airwolf) it was really broken let's hope they fix it.

"If it ain't broke why fix it?
I see no need to reboot the Spiderman movie series, why do so?
The movie series is fine without having to recasting the actors, JK Simmonds is great as j Jonah Jameson, Tobey is fine as Peter Parker/Spiderman and I love Kirsten Dunst as MJ.

What is the matter with Sony pictures, hav'nt they got better things to do than rebooting movies?
Superman has already many problems without creating many more, I hope that Spiderman does not go the same way, He deserves better treatment.

this is too young guys.... Although tobey is not a great actor...it was smart choice to have his 'man-child' face rather than an actual youngster.

They need to go the same route on this...EMILE HURSH i tell you!

I have watched Smallville from day one. Yes there is the season with the witch, and crystal shards. That was lame, I will agree. But other then that, the show has been great. The last 3 seasons has been the best of them all. And with the 2 hour show last week, introducing the JSA, this show could grow in over all fan base.
Yahzee.. The realism you see in Batman, is only a shadow in reality. He is a trained fighter, PHD level mind, and not to mention the armor suit and other techno gear that makes him in truth, a equal and even better to many heros including those who can fly.
Batman Dark Knight had alot of story. He deals with love, and what wearing the suit couses him, and not adds. That the suit attracts more dangerouse, and powerful criminals such as Joker. But that he is the only one who can do what needs to be done, and yet still stay true. The only issue I had with Dark Knight, I felt they went to do what the other Batmans messed up on. To many "villians". He had the Mob, Joker, the Two Face, and a small addition of Scarecrow. And even Begins had three villian angles.

wow, i'm constantly impressed with this crowd. lol yahazee

Fans of HULK'03 are clearly fans of FILM first, COMICS second. Because that was a truly amazing 'film' and 'story'.

Fallen and the others who mentioned BAMAN BEGINS dwelling into character build up first then BECOMING BATMAN second, i whole heartedly agree that was a key element to it's success. But it needs an actor that can 'carry' that kinda of ARC right through...Bale was accomplished enough to handle that task.

When Bruce wears the mask, he becomes powerful/confident/rough/aggressive. there's a sense of otherness, a metamorphosis takes place! The wit/sauve bruce has disappears completely when he's the Bat.

Peter doesn't really make that kinda change...it's more about who PETER is...that conveys into the suit. He's keeps most of his demeanor, humor, fears...but builds a bit more courage. THIS is why it's essential who ever is PETER needs to be a solid actor! Can this kid do it?...doubtful. They should have taken a test 'young' actor. Emile Hursh could have been a better/older fit.

Oh, and as for the SPIDEY TRILOGY. they were SO CAMPY, i really couldn't take it! I thought 2nd one was dark and character driven. That being said the 1st Spidey did help pave the way for other comic films.

Don't get me started on your Justice League.... that's a stupid idea. Really? A F**NG MARTIAN and a MAN THAT CAN FLY along with the realism of the new Batman? you fanboys make me sick. Thanks for screwing Spidey 3 btw. Venom was not supposed to be in there. Way to go idiots

@The_Fallen: I guess we're in disagreement on Spider-Man (2002), because I thought it was a very "interesting and captivating origin" and whatever route they take with the new film they're going to be rehashing a lot of the same material.

    @Gandoff2169: Smallville is f*cking terrible.

Superman Returns was entertaining. But seam to me, Bryan tried to do to much. I dont know who's idea it was to make the story seam like it was contiued from Reeves films, but that was bad. I agree that Ryan would be better at the flash then GL, but I am just glad they got a good actor with history of being a superhero character to fill the role. I would rather see DC take a Big Screen hit at what they built on Smallville. Tom Wellington to me, looks like a young Reeves, and has a real following at Superman/ Clark Kent. But the JLA movie is along way off, compared to Avengers. But if they dont kick things in gear soon on Cap, they will have to push Avengers back. But concidering what they made on tv like Smallville, I am surprised they have not gone to do a Batman tv show like Smallville...

  16. The Narrator: The Better Man

Agreed Josh and Insert on Returns being entertaining and getting the character down pretty good. A reboot is needed though. Millers script needs to come into play.

And Josh, at your older post. There is so MUCH more they could incorporate into the origin of Spidey. Look at Batman Begins. Nolan dew from recent comics on the Caped Crusader and added twisted it a bit, added some things, and bam. an amazing origin story. I mean he wasn't "Batman" till about half way into the movie almost. So I say they go the same path because an interesting and captivating origin (which wasn't spiderman 1) is a pretty big key to a successful story.

Oh, and not to spark another debate, but gandoff2169, I definitely have to agree with you in regards to DC's Superman! If ever a franchise was screaming REBOOT, it is this! If it wasn't for Christopher Nolan's redo of the Batman franchise, DC would be in very big trouble.

I admire what Bryan Singer attempted to do, but, unfortunately, he got it very wrong. The visuals were great, and Superman's "return" sequence of rescuing Lois Lane in the plane crash was exciting (if for no other reason than to see Supes back on the silver screen) but everything after that was, as Kevin Spacey says...WRONG! I just could not connect with Clark Kent, Superman was stalking Lois Lane, there was no "super" villain (ie. someone who could go toe-to-toe physically with Supes) and the whole super-kid thing... ugh, I feel sick just thinking about it!

So, if they are going to "reboot" Superman, keep Spacey's Lex Luthor, I thought he was great. I actually didn't mind Brandon Routh as Superman, but just give him a better script! One of the best things about the comics is that Clark Kent is NOT a weak, mild mannered push-over (i was going to say p*ssy, but I am trying to keep things relatively mature & intellectual). He is the gentleman, and has all of those core, old fashioned values, which I think we need more of in our heroes (Bring on Captain America!) So i hope they get the balance right with Clark Kent/Superman, and invest more in Clark Kent as a character. Give him someone powerful that he can go up against, like Brainiac or Metallo, but still have Luthor pulling all the strings in the background. And distance the new movie as far as possible from Returns!

Now don't get me wrong, I am Marvel through & through, but DC does have some great characters. I was very worried a few years back when reading about the Justice League movie they were trying to get up and running... I am very glad that got canned. I hear DC have some "major announcements" to make in the next couple of weeks... Here is hoping they have peeked a look over Marvel's shoulders to see what they are doing and are going to copy their game plan.

DC's advantage is that, under Warner Brothers, they at least have the rights to use ALL of their characters. Marvel is stuck in that many different company's have many different characters (Fox, just let the Daredevil rights revert back to Marvel... you haven't been interested in a new movie for 7 years, so don't be spiteful now!) It is good to see that DC are finally branching out their character base into the movies. Casting Ryan Reynolds in the Green Lantern film is certainly a step in the right direction (Personally I see him more as The Flash... & also wonder what this means for Deadpool?!) Hopefully DC will then start to weave in little tie-ins to their other characters, Flash, Wonder Woman as well as Superman & Batman, all to culminate in a massive Justice League film... now that would be truly awesome!

Wow, looks like I started something there with the Ang Lee - Hulk vs The Incredible Hulk reboot! Good to see that I wasn't the only one that enjoyed the Ang Lee version. Yes, it was more character driven, but that is what I love about the Marvel films, they really push the characters and it's not all about the masks and the superheroes. Iron Man is proof of that, how cool was Robert Downy Jr as Tony Stark?! Awesome casting, yes, but he nailed the character of Tony Stark.

They Incrediable HULK used the Genral hunting him down. Used all the same character back drops, only changed it slightly. A true reboot would have a redue of showing Banner get blasted, turn into Hulk first time, ect,, and not show him hidding in south america, which is where the first ended. So you can say reboot, but more a sequal with a changing of major historical history from the first movie is in truth what it is. The first was bad, but still entertaining. You have to admite that the ending visuals of Hulk versus his dad was kool, even if the story was crap.

Most people want to see explosions and guns more than acting, this is a sad world we live in.
Films are about story telling, and people that know how to act, the mute point in the first hulk is that he's a fugitive and a threat, but he's more of a threat to villains than good guys.
If there was a good mixture of both, hell I'll watch it.

The Incredible Hulk WAS a reboot. Did you see the main credits? Instead of making a new origin story, they resumed how Hulk was born in there, and IT'S DIFFERENT than the Ang Lee movie.

PS Ang Lee's Hulk was a wonderfully done movie, but as it showed more brains than explotions most people din't like it.
