Sam Waterson's Jack McCoy has been officially replaced on the NBC series Law and Order. According to Variety, Kidnapped's Linus Roache will be stepping in to take his place.

Roache will be playing an executive D.A. Law and Order's main man Dick Wolf stated, "I've known Linus' work for several years. He is an actor who totally gets inside his roles. I think he and Sam are going to raise the bar and add intellect and passion in the back half of the show."

Law and Order will return for its 18th season early next year.
