Later on, the story was updated with a mention that the site was contacted by a representative for Hamilton, who said that was the first they've heard of it.
'I can tell you that Linda is a big fan of T1 and T2 and would be very interested in hearing about participating in the new film," the rep said, adding that they had heard nothing of a deal for the new film.
We'll surely keep you updated on these developments when more information becomes available. Terminator Salvation is currently filming and is set for a May 22, 2009 release.
Terminator Salvation was released May 21st, 2009 and stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin, Jadagrace, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common. The film is directed by McG.

I heard the rumor is that they are going to use her picture, like the one John has of her that was taken at the end of T1. Anything else would be very contrary to continuity and non-canonical with the franchise, as she died of cancer in between T2 and T3. Only the films are canon, the TV show is not. We see in the teaser that Sarah is in fact gone, when John says, "This is not the future my mother warned me about."
Also since Roland Kickinger is replacing Arnold, and CGI in his likeness is to be used in some way, then the T-800s are definitely going to be shown in this one. My thought is that we will see Arnie's face in CGI, like when the machines are making the melanin tissue skin, for future use on the newly designed T-800s. Arnold was a T-850, an 800 upgrade, and I think it might be an ending shot that sets up Terminator 5.

Err
thats assuming the folks making the movie care about what happens in the tv show.
itd be cool if they did but thats not always the case.
the may pull a halloween move and just pretend every thing you heard previously never happened.
but i like the idea that someone else said here earlier where the idea was that she faked her death, and her coffin is actually full of guns and sh*t.

If she does appear in this film maybe they might take into account the TV series. Remember the TV series terminator told Sarah that she was going to die of this certain type of cancer on this certain date. Maybe she is going to do all she can to prevent it.

How bout this for an idea....
She never died. When John Connor mentioned in the 3rd Terminator, Rise of the Machines, he mentions that it was a quiet funeral, blah blah blah.
What if he was covering her a$$?
Say she never died, and was hiding out from the Terminator.
Better yet, what if she found a path into the future "future bubble", to save John from getting killed by the Terminator?
Remember, you never saw her body.....

i know I like Lena Headay in that series but Linda Hamilton was the better, she looks more like a real fighter and it would keep with the continuity of the films

They should Recast and Hire Lena Headay (TV's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) to replace her.
Lena Headay, now that's a sexy mom who'll fight the machines and look hot at the same time
