@ejk1 -- But, Liam Neeson doesn't hold a candle to Daniel-Day Lewis, in terms of acting. That would just make the film seem even more inferior.

Hmm...you know, DDL's voice for Lincoln is not quite what I had in mind. It sounds more pandering than forceful. I don't know how the whole film will turn out, but after seeing that snippet, I'm really disappointed that Liam Neeson turned this down. His voice would have been better than the one DDL is going with, at least in these clips.

Looks like a PBS special. It may be surprisingly good(like "War Horse"), but nothing more than that. Underwhelming, to say the least.

Look people the thing about Lincoln's voice is that no one has really heard it before... There are no recordings or anything like that... One person took it upon themselves to voice Lincoln and did it with the original stereotypical we have heard in things such as Bill and Ted... There is nothing saying that is how Lincoln should sound! I would much rather have his voice delivered in a brilliantly projected way than to have someone change their voice to sound like what everyone else has done!

@thedude-abides Like it was said below, I think this trailer is more about getting the attention of the academy awards than anything... Listing all "Academy Award winning" actors was definitely proof of that... but I definitely see enough to know this is going to be a very good film... Although, I think Tommy Lee Jones will probably end up being the better actor in this, after second viewing!
But we shall see! Both The Master and Lincoln are simply mind blowing to me...
As far as War Horse goes, he has a lot better cast in this one... very talented cast... on a level in which War Horse did not... I think that is what is going to help take this film to a level in which that one did!
Honestly, either The Master or this could win and I would be very happy! Both seem like dream films to me!
