@ejk1 True. All the more reason I can't wait to see he and DDL feeding off each other.

@thedude-abides I'll buy that. Even though both were nominated for the Oscars, I agree that Strathairn's ability made Clooney's job much easier.

@ejk1 Oh, there's no doubt about that. Perhaps stealing the show wasn't the best choice of words. He kicked Clooney's ass is more like it. When I said Strathairn stole the show, I wasn't talking about in terms of screen time; I was talking about in terms of name value. Lead act or no lead act, the much lesser-known Strathairn outshone Clooney in his own movie.

Strathairn has been in some of my favorites such as A League of their Own, LA Confidential, and The Bourne Ultimatum. Adding him is a big plus for Lincoln.
@thedude-abides He didn't steal the show from Clooney. Strathairn was the lead actor in Good Night and Good Luck, as Clooney played a bit role in the film. I guess Clooney decided not to pull a Mel Gibson and be the lead actor and director in a film like Mel did Braveheart. Perhaps he felt that he could not do both well, or maybe he knew that Strathairn is a better actor. Regardless, both men did a great job on that film.

He stole the show right out from under George Clooney in Good Night, and Good Luck. I can't wait to see what he does next to DDL under Spielberg's direction. This is the best assembled cast since The Departed.
