I'm a big fan of the novel, and I think it's a great fit for Lee. The visual style in this trailer is pretty beautiful. I just hope this adaptation focuses on what happens off the ocean as well as what happens on the boat. Pi's conversations with various figures and his telling of the story is as much an important part of the novel as the shipwreck narrative.

I loved this novel but never thouht of it asa movie. I was skeptical when I heard but it seems decent enough. Time will tell. This s definatly good material for Ang Lee.

@phatalphd more jungle book/titanic/castaway, but only if they did a 3 hour movie on Tom Hanks and Wilson, without Hanks and characters less exciting than Wilson.

um, huh? looks like a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggggg movie that will seek to be visually stunning and utterly boring. i almost fell asleep during the trailer. the CGI was not that good. i have no idea what this movie i about (i know i can read the book, but as a movie, this trailer does not sell it well). looks like a children's book (that no kid will want to watch). needless to say: pass.

I thought it'd be a stupid movie, but gotta say I'm interested. Got's that "Jungle Book" feel meets titanic.
