Liam Neeson Set for Clash of the Titans

Liam Neeson is set to portray the battling god Zeus in Warner Bros. and Legendary's Greek-god epic Clash of the Titans, directed by Louis Leterrier.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neeson is playing Zeus, the wise yet sometimes ill-tempered king of the gods and father of Perseus (Sam Worthington).

Ralph Fiennes is in negotiations to play Hades, ruler of the underworld who aims to overtake Zeus and rule over all.

The two actors join Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos in the production, which begins shooting later this month in the U.K.

Clash of the Titans was released April 2nd, 2010 and stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Flemyng, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Tine Stapelfeldt, Mads Mikkelsen. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier.

    V2K: anyone can shave their head, wear a cape, and talk with a low voice on the verge of coughing. Plus the dialogue was just laughable at times, like in the end of HP4 at the Riddle House Graveyard. And it sounded a bit cheesy too. But the flashbacks in the upcoming film will be interesting to see though.

    I'm never against a Liam Neeson casting, but I must say, he wouldn't be my first choice for Zeus. No complaints though. Just an interesting casting decision.

    Agreed. Great casting all 'round! I just hope Ralph Fiennes has something more to give to Hades than his less than impressive Voldemort roles. lolz! And Madds Milkensen (LeChiffre in "Casino Royale" {2006}) I can't picture in a semi-normal role, or of a character in this, so that'll be interesting to see.

    Oh, and Kudos to Liam Neeson for getting back to work so quickly after his wife's sudden death. I wonder if he's yet returned/completed the project he was working on at the time it happened?

    WHAT A GREAT CHOICE THIS IS. NEESON IS ONE OF THE FINEST ACTORS ALIVE & KIND DEMAND THE AUTHORITY THAT IS NEEDED FOR THE KING OF THE GODS. RALPH FIENNES AS HADES, AGAIN GREAT CHOICE. WHOEVER IS DOING THE CASTING FOR THIS FILM NEEDS A PAT ON THE BACK.
