Liam Neeson is no longer Lincoln
In an article from Digital Spy, Liam Neeson told GMTV that he was simply too old to continue to pursue the role, even though he is only a mere two years older than the President when he died. He said, "I'm not actually playing Lincoln. I was attached to it for a while, but now I'm past my sell-by date."
The actor will instead take on the role of President Lyndon B. Johnson in Lee Daniels' upcoming civil rights drama Selma.
Lincoln comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg.

I just can't see Liam Neeson playing Lyndon B. Johnson at all. I think Randy Quaid still fit the role after the 1987 LBJ: The Early Years. He would be better then Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson is not a bad actor, just a good actor in the wrong role IF he do play Lyndon B. Johnson.

First of all, he would make a much better LINCOLN than he would JOHNSON, who, by the way, he looks nothing like. Secondly, LINCOLN took office at 52 years of age. JOHNSON took over for KENNEDY when he was 55. That's only 3 years difference! NEESON himself is only 58!

Must have missed this... didn't know he had the part. He would've been awesome. Now if someone will tell him to quit jumping into crap like CotT. I had fun at A-Team, so I won't bust him for that. I'd really like to see him get another role with his Taken character. He was a f'ing bada$$ in that!
