James Sallis is the latest author to see his work of fiction turned into a theatrical adaptation. According to Variety, the feature rights to his Lew Griffin crime novels have been sold to Parallel entertainment.

Lew Griffin is an African-American private detective who tries to solve missing person cases in New Orleans. Apparently, he also has a couple of personal demons he's trying to work out.

Parallel's J.P. Williams stated, "He's a perfect cinematic character, in the mold of classic noir detectives like Marlowe and Spade, and he's ready for smart translation to film."

There is no word on when filming will start.
