Leslie Nielsen passed away at age 84 from pneumonia complications
"We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60 year career in motion pictures and television."
Mr. Nielsen, 84, died of complications of pneumonia in a hospital near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, surrounded by his lovely wife and dear friends at 5:34pm EST today.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the charity of your choice."

Leslie Nielsen was born on February 11, 1926 in the Regina province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Before making his mark in comedy, he appeared in dramatic movies such as Forbidden Planet and The Poseidon Adventure. In 1980, he starred in the hit spoof comedy Airplane! and in 1982, he took on his famed role of Lt. Frank Drebin for the first time in the short-lived TV series Police Squad!. While the show only lasted for six episodes, the formula was set in motion for the 1988 spoof comedy The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad, where Leslie Nielsen returned as Drebin. The movie spawned the sequels The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear in 1991 and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult in 1994.
Nielsen was last seen in the spoof comedies Stan Helsing and Superhero Movie, a genre that loved him almost more than he loved it himself. He will next be seen in the recently completed Stonerville as a producer behind a series of hit viral videos, as well as The Waterman Movie, where he will voice the world's greatest explore in this animated comedy adventure.
Leslie Nielsen was survived by his wife Barbaree Nielsen, his fourth wife, and two children, Thea and Maura, from his second marriage to Sandy Ullmann.

It's wonderful that his audience doesn't remember him for his lesser roles, but instead for his best alone. Too often people look only at the negatives. He was truly an iconic actor.

Wait, so they ask generously to donate to whichever charity you choose, but then ask you to give Nielson the credit? I could see that if it were a charity he set up, but for whichever one you want on your own accord?

as a baseball player, the end of NakedGun I find to be some of the funniest sh-t Ive ever seen. When Nielsen takes off his mask and reveals himself as the ump...and the fan says "it's Enrico Pallazzo" -I can't get enough of that to this day.
