Les Miserables Lands Russell Crowe
The story is based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel and follows peasant Jean Valjean who has just been released from imprisonment in the Bagne of Toulon after nineteen years (five for stealing bread for his starving sister and her family, and fourteen more for numerous escape attempts). Upon being released, he is required to carry a yellow passport that marks him as a prisoner, despite having already paid his debt to society by serving his time in prison.
Les Miserables comes to theaters December 7th, 2012 and stars Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks. The film is directed by Tom Hooper.

A great book, with a tremendous cast and director. I look more forward to this than I do Anna Karenina. But we still need the roles of Cosette and Gavroche to be filled.

this has been done over and over and over again... on and off stage. that being said.... to my knowledge it has not been done with a cast shaping up like this before! crowe and jackman (who is far more diversified as an actor than some give him credit for). looking forward to hearing who else joins this cast. hope this movie is done well!
