Here Michael Luisi comments on the tone of the film and explains where they want to go with the remake.
" The tone is going to be a little darker, a little more traditional horror than the Warwick Davis ones that people remember, trying to find a way to please fans of that genre but at the same time this is really being played for scares."
Here is what he said when asked if any elements from the originals would be used in the new film.
"No, it is a true reboot of the franchise."
WWE star Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl is playing the evil Leprechaun with a possible cameo by franchise star Warwick Davis.
Leprechaun: Origins comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Dylan Postl. The film is directed by Zach Lipovsky.

The Cryptkeeper: Resurrected
If it is a remake then why not call it simply "Leprechaun"? Oh well, sucks Davis isn't the leprechaun, but I guess it makes sense if it's a reboot.

If Warwick Davis is not playing the Leprechaun then I don't care to see it.

WWE studios does have a few movies that aren't that bad. However this idea seems awful in every way.

@thedude-abides -- I have only four words to say; four words that will define - in vivid detail - how I'm feeling. And I need someone else to say them for me.

Ok I dont mind Dylan playing the evil lil Leprechaun, but i hope this isnt a wwe film, because 90% of wwe films SUCK!, Noticed how outsiders studios that feature wwe superstars such as the rock, turn out great, while wwe studios films, are crap.
Now as far as taking this to much darker route, that sounds good to me. Will have to wait and see how makeup turns out tho, unlike freddy's remake. PSH!

It's like the WWE know EXACTLY how to make really bad movies.

Really? What studio would reach into the bottom of the barrel for the laughably bad horror franchise. It was bad enough when Jason when into space, but when the good old Leprechaun went into space no that was hilariously bad, so what studio would be so desperate to reboot this franchise. Not surprisingly it's the WWE. I guess they want to reaffirm their commitment to make not only bad fake wrestling, but also cheap and bad films as well.
